![]() Double Times Five at Rust CollegeStudents, faculty and staff at Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss., may be getting a bit confused by the look-alikes on campus.
They all say being identical twins can be fun, particularly, when people try to figure out who's who and that they tend to have a connection that other siblings do not share. But they also point out it can be hard to find a balance between being a twin and having your own identity.
"We are alike in many ways with a love for athletics," said Desmond, the older of the two. Nonetheless, Demond, who appears more bossy and outgoing, did not fail to interject that he is more competitively athletic than his twin brother. "I think we have remained close because we enjoy the same things and we have mutual friends," Desmond said.
Ariel and Ashley Ward, like the Mitchells, are from Chicago, and say their experience thus far at Rust has been positive. They say students tend to have various reactions when the apparent becomes obvious. "We twins!" Ashley, the older of the two remarked, adding, "Many times one of us is mistaken for the other." However, during the time they have dated, there was no error, with either boyfriend mistaking one for the other, Ashley explained.
Latisha and Latosha Carter, also from Chicago, and they also have in common the love for music. "People tend to do a double take when they discover we are twins, asking 'y'all twins?'" However, when it comes to the sense of style, they are the opposites. Latisha, the older of the two, refers to herself as casual, comfortable and laid-back, but she considers Latosha to be the girly-girly type.
